I plan on using RCA adapters along with coax runs.  I'm only going about
150 feet, which, according to what I have read at avsforum, should be
doable.  I'm actually more concerned with the IR.  My plan is to
distribute the IR over Cat5 with a homemade adapter.  If this works it
should save me money on baluns or some other pre-built solution.

Since the Myth box will be running 24x7, and since what I'll have in the
living room are essentially computer speakers, I have other
opportunities for things like caller ID associated with WAV files so I
hear who's calling, or text-to-speech e-mail reading.

The reason I want a built-in sound card is so I can actually add another
one.  The additional card will be dedicated to my microbroadcasting
station.
