[mythtv-users] MythTV refuses to start (long)

Hi everybody,
First of all, my apologies if my e-mail is too long, but I felt like that
sharing as much info as possible would help most in solving my problem.
I've been trying to get MythTV up and running for a few days now, but with no
success. First I'll post my specs:
Gentoo Linux 2.6.9-r4

Athlon 1800xp+
ASUS A7V655-C (VIA KT233 chipset)
Hauppauge PVR-350 TV card

I've followed the documentation on the MythTV website (which is pretty good,
my compliments). After a few small problems I got everything nicely up and
running untill the moment I was actually going to use the TV card to watch TV:
error reading from: /dev/v4l/video0
read:: input output error
So I checked if the ivtv driver was loaded properly, which was obviously not
the case. See the (VERY) long dmesg output on the bottom. Strange thing was
though, the mythfilldatabase --manual procedure went just fine. At least, it
found channels and I could select them and skip them and such.
I am really stuck with this. What can I do? Try to recompile other drivers?
A little side-note, I did NOT compile these drivers from the portage.
