While I don't have the skill today to submit relevant patches, I
disagree - the transcode should be able to reduce the resolution so that
an HDTV capture can be reduced in file size and CPU requirement so it
will play on anything, if one wants to let the transcode run that long
and sacrifice that much quality.
I'm grateful for what MythTV does now, but sad that my hardware is
sufficient for viewing Live HDTV with pcHDTV's xine, but inadequate to
display the same stream within MythTV.
So I'll continue to hope while shopping for hardware.
