[mythtv-users] Streaming video from web

Yeah.  That would be nice.  My next door neighbor runs SnapStream and it
has a on the fly transcode (downcoding) for him to watch on a lower
bandwidth device, functionality from the webpage.  Even though its nice
to be able to click on it now and have MythWeb serve up the raw NUV
files... Its not all the time that im on a fast enough link.  Sometime I
would really like to watch a show from a DSL link or conference wireless
setup.  Launching VLC as a client app by some helper hook would be
really cool.  VLC is a great client AND server app...  Maybe I'd make
some cool themes for VLC that would allow it to look and feel like
MythTv Themes....

I think Dave's referring to getting VLC acting as a "helper application"

so that you can clock on URL and have a stream delivered.

Obviously you can circumvent the above :-)
