[mythtv-users] Problem watching tv

After doing a lot of reading and trying stuff I concluded that it might have
something to do with my TV card itself. I got a WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert
which has the brand new cx23881 chip on it. Hence the bttv drivers won't
work and I'm stuck with the cx8800 drivers which aren't nearly finished
yet...

However I find it odd that allthough the driver lacks overlay support (not
implemented yet) nor IR support, the main output is capture mode. Thats how
TVTime and xawtv get their image feed...
Does MythTV need the overlay feature to watch tv?? And if so - why? It seems
to me that if the backend encodes the stream and sends it to the frontend
then capture mode should work, right?

Does anyone else have a cx8800 based tv card and is it working??
