This appears to be an X11 permission problem. Did you login as another
user/root and su to the user who was running xine? xclock is a good
tool to check your X permissions. Read the manpage for xhost and xauth
to gain further understanding.

check the permissions on /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 and possibly try chmod
a+r /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 to give everybody read permission on the
device. man chmod if you need to understand unix permissions.
