What's the rest of the output from lsmod? Is the ivtv-fb module also
loaded when you run modprobe ivtv?

Perhaps you forgot to add the line 
install ivtv /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install ivtv; /sbin/modprobe ivtv-fb
to /etc/modprobe.conf.
