[mythtv-users] "File missing" on remote frontend

Does anybody know the answer to this?

Has anybody gotten a remote frontend to work without setting up an
explicit fileshare between the frontend and backend systems?

I can get a frontend to work if I share the video files via nfs.  Is
this necessary or is there another way?
