[mythtv-users] ATI Remote with FC2 - Round 2

After some delay, I finally installed an ATI Remote Wonder
in my MythTV box. The system responded with some messages
in the log.

But now, the question is which way to actually manage MythTV
with the device. From earlier threads, it seems like all that is
required is the ati_remote.ko module. And that module does
seem to have been made part of the kernel, according to lsmod.

But pressing the buttons on the remote have no effect that I can
discover. What am I missing? Should I just follow this tutorial?

It's really confusing to see different HOWTOs and tutorials, some
of which say to modify xorg.conf, while others say to use lirc.

If modifying xorg.conf means that the ATI Remote becomes the
mouse device and the regular mouse no longer works, then I
would not choose that path. But, if you can keep both the
regular mouse and add the ATI Remote, then that looks pretty good.

If you have acquired enough expertise in dealing with the ATI Remote,
would you be kind enough to tell us what you decided and how you
made your choice?

Thanks.
