[mythtv-users] help! focus issue

It seems I'm running into a focus problem with mythfrontend.
I've tried the configs bundled in 0.15 for fvwm and twm, and
neither has helped. WindowMaker helped until I loaded any
gnome or kde app.

I'm setup so that X has 2 displays, :0.0 and :0.1, :0.0 being
my monitor, and :0.1 being TV, coming out of a GeForce 2 MX 440.
(redhat 9 + atrpms for myth 0.15).

MythTV runs just fine, I'm able to use the remote, record streams,
etc. using the native lirc. It looks and responds sooo much
better than my comcast pvr, which I'm trying to replace.

That is until I take focus away from the terminal I used
to start mythfrontend, or if I start mythfrontend automatically
on X login. When this happens I'm not able to change focus on any
menu items in setup, nor am I able to move more than one click
left/right/down/up in the program guide.

I haven't been able to find a way as of yet to exclude the
tv-out screen from interacting with the keyboard and mouse.
I want it to only respond to input from lirc. Would changing
from native to irexevent help? irw shows all the input from
the remote, but since mythfrontend doesn't have the focus it
doesn't appear to be able to receive any of the evens.

It seems like it would work ok as a dedicated myth box,
but I need to use it for more than that. Is there anyone else
out there running a multi-purpose myth box like this? How'd
you get it working? Do I need more hardware (a dedicated pvr-350
out for mythfrontend?) Help!
