Maybe you can add a 'Search box' to the main menu on the left of the
mythtv.org site. Say something like Search for Answers or something like
that then when they click Search it will create redirect to the gossamer
site using their search url:
"http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/engine?list=mythtv&do=search_results&
search_forum=all&search_string=put_search_string_here&search_type=AND"
