[mythtv-users] WinMyth on XP crashes on startup

Just installed WinMyth along with gplmpeg2 and DSMyth. When I run it I get  
"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process  
id=0x5d4 (1492), Thread id=0x594 (1428)"

Ports 6543, 6544 and 3306 are open on both machines, and MySQL and  
mythbackend are set to use the external address. DSMyth settings point to  
the backend. Properties on a .nuv file gives me a "MythTV DB Info" tab  
that's correct, but the "MythTV File Info" tab just says the file is not a  
valid MythTV nuv file.

I also can't open the .nuv files with an URL (i.e.  
myth://holywood:6543/7_20040521141400_20040521144500.nuv). Seems like the  
mythtv:// protocol is unrecognized - MediaPlayer says "unspecified error".

Everything above, plus MythTV, are the latest release versions (not CVS).

Sorry for posting on the MythTV list, but WinMyth itself has none...
