[mythtv-users] Missing feature? (recording profile on manual record)

I've just been using the Mythtv box to copy convert a VHS tape to
digital format. I know I could just cat /dev/video > file.mpg, but I would
like mythtv to know about it (conflicts, etc), and stop the recording
automatically. I set up an 'AUX' channel that uses the composite in and a
recording profile that's DVD-compatible. Trouble is, for the manual recording,
I don't see an option to choose the recording profile like on normal recordings
(in advanced options). I suppose I could set the date to the future and get
info on it from within 'Conflict Resolution' or something to set it, but that
seems like a roundabout way to do it. If it's recording already, you can't
change the settings (good thing, I think).
Also, I've noticed that deleting an in-progress recording is a bit
buggy. I aborted a recording and deleted it, but the scheduled recordings
still showed it as green (in progress). It didn't update after a minute (like
I thought it might), and I couldn't set up another recording. If I killed
mythfrontend and mythbackend, it paid attention and updated.
