i don't know about the X10 remote (since I am using a remote from MCE)
but I am using 2 PVR-250MCE cards in my myth box and they both work
great.
I, like you, had to tackle this problem. You have to get a set of ivtv
drivers that support the cardtype module parameter. For that was version
ivtv-0.1.10-pre2-ck05 (although that one appears to be pretty old). If I
remember correctly, you might have to tweak the makefile to get
everything compiling correctly.
Once the modules have been compiled and installed, add the cardtype=2
parameter to the ivtv module in /etc/modules.conf and you should be good
to go.
