...Or perhaps just turn transcoding to MPEG4 on?
(or is he doing that already? I'm not sure of what the mpeg2 settings
look like)
You should be able to edit out commercials once transcoded, but the
files going to be smaller even with them, ~1G/hr at
720x480x2200bps(mpeg4)
(sort of hard to make the edits from Europe I suppose)
Remember to turn on HQ&4mv, but NOT for capturing in MPEG4, just for
transcoding, unless perhaps you have a AthlonXP 3200+ or better...
(Capturing hires in MPEG4... This way madness lies)
Avidemux2 will load your NUVs and trim the commercials out nicely in any
case.
