Yeah, when I said, "try ivtv-0.1.10pre2-ck63k," I really meant "try."

Chris Kennedy has been very prolific at finding/fixing bugs in the ivtv 
drivers over the last couple of weeks.  The newest patches from Chris 
fix a significant number of instabilities; however, mythfrontend lockups 
are still very common.  Therefore, yesterday, he began focusing on 
fixing the lockups and may have narrowed down the cause to certain 
interactions between Myth and the ivtv drivers.

As of about 90 minutes ago, it seems to be bugs in Myth that exist due 
to bugs that existed in the ivtv drivers (which allowed Myth to use ivtv 
incorrectly).  In other words, you will probably need one of Chris's 
latest patches (from the ck63 series) and may need a patch to Myth (once 
one is written) to get things working properly.  More details will be 
available on the ivtv lists, so keep reading them.  :)
