[mythtv-users] Recording will mess up mythtv, requires a hard reboot...

Sounds like you're using ivtv-0.1.9 or ivtv-0.1.10pre2.  If so, 1) sign 
up for the IvyTV mailing lists 
(http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=73219  ) and 2) try 
ivtv-0.1.10pre2-ck63k ( http://kmos.org/~ckennedy/ivtv/ ).
