Is it possible that the saturation is simply set too low somehow? Have you 
tried directly setting the saturation to max value and see if you see any 
difference? Otherwise perhaps you have an Svideo cable with a broken 
chrominance line, or your card is only getting luminance signal for some 
other reason.
