[mythtv-users] Sound Problem

Hello,

I'm new to mythtv. I've setup a Asus Pundit with a cheap Bt848 Hauppauge 
  capture card running SuSE 9.0. The video output of by satellite box is 
connected to the composite input of the capture card and the audio 
output is connected to the line-in connector of the Pundit's onboard sound.
When I'm watching DVDs with MythDVD or listening to music with MythMusic 
the sound is ok. But when I'm watching Live TV or a recording I can only 
hear the left audio channel.
My first idea was that the audio connection between the satellite box 
and the Pundit is not correct, but when I pass-through the line-in 
channel with alasmixer or record the sound input into a file and play it 
back with

cat /dev/dsp > file
cat file > /dev/dsp

I can hear the left and the right audio channel.

Can somebody point me to a possible solution for my problem?
