AD is a pig.  Just an OO layer(s) over the top of the old 
LANManager Domain system.  NDS/eDirectory is a REAL 
directory and you it runs on many platforms (NetWare, WinXX, 
Solaris, Linux, AIX, HP-UX, etc...).
