Hi,
I have recently setup MythTv box and it works like a charm, however still
without a capture card ( I have to buy that). To control the box I'm using
an IR remote control that interfaces natively with MythTv; Mplayer is
compiled with lirc support. The MythTv lircd.conf file has lirc entries like
prog = mythtv
config = ...
button = ...
and the Mplayer lircd.conf
prog = mplayer
config = ...
button = ..
and it works, that's not the problem. My specific question is that when I
have started Mplayer through MythVideo, I want only MPlayer to accept lirc
commands. In the current setup, if Mplayer and Myth binds the same button,
both receives commands. Is there a way to get around this? For example to
stop Myth accepting lirc commands when Mplayer is started, and to have Myth
to start again accepting lirc commands when Mplayer is stopped.
One solution is to bind different button for Myth and Mplayer, but to do
this I have to buy a new remote or to bind buttons that are not really
obvious for the user.
Is using irxevent instead of "prog=mplayer" and "prog=mythtv" a solution?
Any ideas other ideas?

PS.
Great software. I am looking forward to the next release.
