[mythtv-users] MythTV Optimal Configuration

I've been looking through the settings.pro for the latest CVS and I have a
couple questions.
 
1. I see MythTV has native LIRC support. Is anyone using it? How well does
it work? How easy is it to setup?
2. XvMC is commented out by default. I have an Nvidia 5200. Is it advised
that I use XvMC or not? I've heard it can slow down rendering on some (all)
Nvidia cards.
