So, you actually do have X running on the pvr-350 as screen1, but you don't get snail-like response on the tv-out frame rate? Hmm. I'll try the export DISPLAY=":0.1" trick. I did sort of have this setup before but I can't claim that I had Myth set up correctly to use the "PVR-350 TV-out" at the time, so mythtv might have been sending the video to the tv via X.
Would there be any success in setting up the pvr350 as display :1.0? Maybe this might be a way to resolve the focus issues?
I noticed the focus confusion which can mess up your remote. Too bad that the remote "keystrokes" can't be directed at Myth using a non-focus mechanism -- maybe allow input to MythTV from a character device that puts out the irxevent characters, or the keyboard?
