I have a similar configuration and had the same problems.

#1 - Make sure your bios is up to date.
#2 - Disable APCI ACPI (I know you're already doing that).  You can 
actually do this via lilo parameters.  Add "noapic noacpi" in your 
append section.
#3 - Don't use the gentoo-sources kernel.  I guess there are quite a 
few people having problems running this on the nForce2 boards.  
Personally, my luck hasn't been too bad.
