It's true, snes9x wants rw access to /dev/mem .. but there are built in
controls in linux to prevent /dev/mem from being accessed by users, even
if it is set 777.  the only way to make snes9x run fullscreen is to
setUID it root.... which is, of course, a massive security issue. 
Another reason to keep your mythbox well firewalled!
