7-8 seconds seems a little long.  I recently switched from using the pvr350
tv-out to a gf4mx tv-out.  I'm still using the 350 for capture.  With the
350 tv-out, changing channels took 4-5 seconds.  Now it takes about 2
seconds.  I'm using ext3.
