But it isn't "necessary" in the case posted. There are 2 tuner cards and 2
shows
to be recorded. There's no reason they have to be recorded on the same card. It
sound like the scheduler is exhibiting a preference to leave a card idle
for live TV
or it doesn't consider the pre/post roll when laying out its work, that
only comes
into play later, if there's time.
