Definitely keep using the alsa drivers.  Just don't try to use Myth's 
native alsa support.  Instead make sure you load the alsa oss emulation 
layer and tell myth to use oss instead.  You'll see a few issues 
suddenly go away I imagine.

I use alsa with OSS emulation on all my boxes.
