[mythtv-users] Updating - also some technical questions

These instructions work great:

They rely on the LIRC Home-Brew Transmitter that can be assembled from 
RadioShack parts.
The only thing you might want to check before you start is that the 
homebrew transmitter will work with the DirecTV boxes.  I think I 
remember some issue with them using a higher frequency or something???
