[mythtv-users] btaudio: reverse chipmunk (low pitch, slow sound) with WinTV401

After much googling, I've finally gotten btaudio set
up and working, installing with digital only, 32KHz,
/dev/dsp1 for card 1, and /dev/dsp1 for card 2. I
have 2 Hauppauge WinTV401 cards.

The problem is that the audio is very slow and very
low-pitch. I get the same result no matter what I use
to play the audio, Myth, sox (-r 32000 on both ends),
and play all do exactly the same thing. In myth the
video slows down to match the audio.

In all my googling I haven't seen anyone with the same
problem. I want to get btaudio working because I have
2 tv cards no room for another soundcard, so patch
cables are out. Does anyone with a better knowledge
of btaudio have any ideas? Could it be PCI latency or
something? I'm at a loss.

Things I know it's not...
CPU power: top shows 20-30% cpu for live tv watching
onboard soundcard: mp3s play fine
32KHz vs 41KHz: this is Lurch, not Alvin. sox produces
the same effect with -r 32000 on both ends.

Solutions that won't help...
Patch cables: I have 2 tv cards and no room for
another sound card

My additions to modules.conf...
options btaudio digital=1 analog=0 rate=32000
pre-install btaudio modprobe snd-pcm-oss #give dsp0 to
the mixer

My HW...
2x Hauppauge WinTV401 cards
Chaintech 7NIF2 nvidia mobo, using builtin vid, snd, net
AMD 2400+ Thoroughbred 2GHz, 133MHz FSB
512MB RAM

Thanks in advance,
Mike
