[mythtv-users] Channels above 125

Does you channel table in the mythconverg database have any entries for
channels > 125. If not, then I think that's why myth won't change to
those channels. If I'm understanding you correctly, you set the cable
box to some channel > 125 using the Sat remote, then press 'i' in myth,
then myth will show whatever the last channel it thought it was on.

Subject: Re: [mythtv-users] Channels above 125
I'm sorry if I'm not making myself clear in what I'm asking.
The PVR is set to use s-video, myth is set to use s-video, I have
nothing defined in myth to use anything other than s-video.
Hitting "c" does nothing since nothing is set as an alternative to
s-video.
myth can't set the osd to a channel that's not on the cable tuner?
I understand that an external script can send the IR command to whatever
channel I want, it just seems weird that the osd is limited to 125
channels. ( I can see and browse to those channels, but if i select one,
it sends the command then displays something <125.)
If I am on channel 555 and hit "i" the OSD says that I'm on some channel
<125 and I can't tell what channel I'm actually on unless I grab the Sat
remote and hit display, then wait till the display catches up with the
DVR.
Does that make more sense to what I'm asking?
Thanks for the feedback,

I think that's because you are telling the *PVR* tuner to tune
that - and it only goes to 125 so the command fails. When you used the
s-video there is no internal tuner, so the ch# is just passed to the
external script.

ok yes, that's part of it and I am in the process of
building a IR transceiver ( more to come on that later, you guys may
like this solution).
The other part is that myth doesn't change to anything
above 125. Say that I'm on ch25, and I want to switch to 255, I type in
2552<enter> or <space>. Myth freezes for a few seconds and displays ch25
on the OSD, if i go back into the EPG it says that I'm on ch25. Is there
a way to get myth to change the OSD and EPG to actually change to
channels above 125?

Well your question is not very clear.
Let assume that you want to change chanels on
your dishnetwork reciver that
is hooked up s-video then you need to get lirc
and wireless transmiter look
at
http://www.mmdsi.com/mythtv/MythTV_DISH_IR_LED_TX_via_Modified_LIRC.html
After you installed all then you need to go to
setup and in source it should
let you select scrip that will change chanels
for you.
