[mythtv-users] mythfrontend just says "waiting for free video
buffers timed out"

I'm getting closer... Thanks for all your help, folks.
Anyway, mythbackend is dutifully filling up my ring buffer with nice
valid video data as I write this, as directed by mythfrontend, having
selected "Watch TV" with my freshly debugged lirc daemon. Only problem
is, mythfrontend is dutifully spewing the following:
waiting for free video buffers timed out
waiting for free video buffers timed out
...
...but no joy in the form of video, and the last thing in backend's log
is this, and nothing appears afterwards:
2004-06-16 13:27:49 Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
Right after I hit "Watch TV" (maybe 2 secs), however, there was maybe
0.7 seconds of sound but no video. Just dark lonely blackness.
The nuv file plays great in mplayer, so I know mythbackend is doing it's
job, at least as far as recording goes, presumably commercial tagging as
well.
So, here's what we have:
1. mythbackend is creating a good ringbuffer.
2. mythfrontend must be able to negotiate with the backend, as it should
have horked, instead of continuing to play blackness
3. mythbackend apparently does not know anything is wrong. How can this
be?
I'd be willing to do any netcat magic or whatever is needed to debug
this issue. Please advise!
Thanks for the best PVR out there!!! I'm almost there!
