Yes, but not 3-4 seconds.  Mine were more like
a couple hundred milliseconds off.

I have a feeling it's an imperfect mplexer.
Haven't had time to properly go through it, though.
Have you tried de-muxing the .mpeg and remuxing
with a different audio offset?
