[mythtv-users] Locking tuner or resetting tuner to given channel when not in use?

Hi,

with the new ivtv driver supporting VBI and a patched nxtvepg it's
finally possible to use nxtv with the pvrx50 cards. This would be a
major step forward for myth -- in germany (and other nxtv countries) at
least.

For this to perform well a locking of the video device (tuner) is
needed. Is there such a thing? Does myth set a lockfile or such when
it's watching live tv or recording?

Another possibility would be to reset the tuner to the channel providing
the epg data when not in use. This way one could use the passive mode of
nxtvepg.

Is there such a functionality in myth? Myth outputs the backend status
in the "changing from ... to ..." messages, so maybe there's an easy way
to provide a locking?
