Not to mention that the new Barton cores (and the A64's) implement "cool 
'n' quiet" feature

AMD have made leaps and bounds with their power consumption. I don't have 
any figures, but IIRC the A64's run even cooler and use even less power. If 
you can get your hands on a mobile Athlon (about £10 more than the regular) 
you'll be laughing. They're designed for lappies and have much lower power 
requirements.
