I think it'll be fine. I have a PIII 500 with a DVB-T card (which is
similar in that your CPU is not required to do any encoding) and
recording a show uses 6% CPU time.
I also boot a diskless EPIA running minimyth from the same machine. It's
also a web server, mail server (with anti-spam and anti-virus) and
various other things. I've had no performance issues.
One thing I _did_ do was add a Silicon Image ATA133 IDE controller in
place of the on-board ATA33, as I have a 160GB Samsung ATA100 drive.
