Axel, which version of the compiler are you using to prepare
the RPMs ?
I have a brand new box w/FC2, and I always get some "internal compiler error"
when I try to compile the kernel.
I made hundreds of attempts, using both gcc32, gcc33 and gcc34.
By now, I have to compile the kernel on another machine (FC1),
rsync all the tree, then do make modules_install, mkinitrd, etc. etc.
by hand on the FC2 machine (I can't run "make install" as it gives
the internal compiler error, too). This makes me waste a huge amount of time.
Also, if I try to install your pre-compiled modules (for lirc, ivtv, etc.)
on the kernel I cross-compiled on the other machine, they won't load...
I believe that the modutils programs "detect" the kernel was compiled
with a different compiler/machine than you did, hence they refuse
to load the modules.
So, which compiler do I have to use to avoid the FC2 "internal compiler error",
and what tricks to fool the modutils so your pre-compiled modules
can work with my self-compiled kernel?
(Or, alternatively, could you please make an RPM available with the FC2 kernel
properly recompiled (NO AGP linked in, etc.)? I spent too many nights on this
issue in the last weeks, I'd be really grateful if somebody could help a bit...)
