There's always spray paint. I just bought a crappy beige box (Compaq 
deskpro SFF), which I'm going to use for front and backend, and settled 
on it for this reason: three, count them, full-height PCI slots. Most 
small boxes have two or fewer, often in the low-profile form factor. 
Caution: I think some of the compaq SFF's have only 2 slots.

Otherwise, like someone said, Shuttles are pretty cool, and VIA's 
M10000, etc can be great frontend boxes for your system.
