[mythtv-users] PVR-250, mpeg settings, avidemux2, audio sync issue

I have been fighting with this for a while now. I want to cut
commercials from my programs and then put them on DVD, there are many
good threads about how to do this, but I am fighting audio desync. My
files are in sync in MythTV (as expected) but once they are exported to
anything else, audio starts to drift out of sync as time goes on. I
have transcoded the file with mythtv, adobe premiere, and mplex but
unfortunately this only makes it worse. I have a suspicion that it may
have to do with my settings which are:

Mythtv settings:
VIDEO
Resolution: 720x480
Stream Type: MPEG2-PS & DVD (tried both)
bitrate: 6000-6500
ratio: 4:3
AUDIO
Sampling Rate: 48kHz
Type: Layer II
bitrate: 384kbps

Chipset: Nforce2
Distro: SuSE 9.0
kernel: 2.4.21-215-athlon

Also, is there a way to get the stream to be DVD-compliant without any
editing? dvdauthor will not accept straight up mythtv files. My
primary use of mythtv is to put shows that I have recorded onto DVD. I
don't want to do SVCD, I want to put several shows on one disc. Any
help on this would be great. Thanks guys.
