[mythtv-users] Strange Audio Problem

Hello,

I'm using a PVR-350 (IVTV CK 100d) with MythTV and it's recording
everything very nicely. My problem occurs when I try to watch live
TV, or play a recorded file. About 5 seconds into viewing, the audio
begins to sound like you pressed fast forward on your CD player. I
also notice that the audio is not synchronized with the video (I do
have the audio output from the PVR-350 connected to the line-in on my
sound card and the sound card output is connected to the stereo).

Somehow I was able to correct the situation once, but I'm not sure how
I did it. At the time, I reset the audio levels for the master and
line controls on the card using 'amixer' and also changed the volume
using the settings within MythTV and it began to work. The audio and
video were synchronized and I didn't get the strange audio, but it did
seem like the video was skipping frames. The picture was not as
smooth as live TV. I tried the same changes, but it doesn't seem to
work now.

I'm posting this here because I am able to capture and playback a
stream without any troubles outside of Myth. I can also playback the
Myth recordings in xine(?) without any audio or video troubles. I do
not think that it's a problem with IVTV even though I know it's the
least stable of the components. If I should be asking the IVTV group
for help, please say so.

Thanks,

-Dave
