[mythtv-users] Latest CVS -> audio buffer overflows

Hi,

Glad to here that I could help.

Here is a brief writeup how I figured out that it was an irq conflict.

My problem was not just with MythTV, I had the problem with all programs
that used ALSA:
When running xmms I got an error in /var/lob/kern.log (or dmesg). I
can't remember the exact line but
it had alsa and input/output error in it. I did a quick search on
Internet on the line "alsa input/output error"
and soon find out that it probably was an irq conflicts.

I alsa found and old dmesg log that was from an old installation of my
mythtv box where everything worked.
The only difference between the two dmesg logs was the ACPI stuff. It
was missing from the new one. I then
remembered that I had done some changes in the BIOS and when looking for
any ACPI in there and soon
found that I had disabled ACPI for some reason.
