So I'm *not* the only one in the US without cable TV channels! :)

I'd guess if your location is like mine, 35 of your 40 are reruns of the
Simpsons. ;) I'm not complaining, though. I love the Simpsons. Only
Futurama was better!!! And, all you Family Guy fans should note that
the Family Guy is set to return with new episodes (I think it will be on
Cartoon network) in 2005 (~June?).

Definitely! These two are awesome--and much more science than current
Discovery/TLC. They're like Discovery/TLC used to be--before they got
popular and went Hollywood. Anymore, Discovery/TLC are to science as
MTV is to music (i.e. used to have it).
There's also:
The Outer Limits
Andromeda (although it's definitely changed in character in the last season)
Stargate SG-1 (although I quit recording these--after all, Region 1 DVD
release of Season 7 is scheduled for Oct 19, 2004 (!!!), and that way, I
get them in order, in widescreen, in DVD quality, and without
thunderstorm/hurricane warnings--unlike when I record them)
Plus, all those shows you didn't watch during the season because of
conflicts with higher-priority shows... (If you haven't seen it before,
it's new to you.)
