Amsterdam, Netherlands.. hehe ;-)

Funny story:

In the process of trying get mythtv working on a Pentium 4, 512
Megabyte, Hauppauge PVR350, 200Gb + a 20 Gb drive for the OS, DVD
writer and reader, I tried the following:

First I installed Mandrake 10.0. But the ivtv drivers for the PVR
350 would not compile, missing symbols.
Then Tried Mandrake 9.0 because that's what was reffered to in the
manual. No luck there either. (Mind you I did add Thacs sources and
plf sources for urpmi)

Then I tried Debian Sarge (unstable) almost got it to work, exept
for xmltv, which just would not install, nor compile, tried
Slackware next, hell on earth found in there....

Then Knoppmyth, Red Hat, Suse, and now Mandrake 10.0 again. Why?
Because someone here told me about the following magicall incantation:

"urpmi kernel-sds- mythtv-suite ivtv- -a"

Which downloads everything you need. Why is *that* nowhere in the
mythtv manual I would think?

Still, even after those magic words, the drivers for the PVR 350
still will not load on boot.

Boy oh boy... Been busy with this for two whole straight weeks,
gotten nowhere fast, except for displaying static...

Thanks,
Mark
