Interesting. I know there are (at least) two versions of the PVR-250
MCE. I have a PVR-250 MCE that is working fine on my Myth setup. I
will have to take a look at the chip numbers on mine when I get home,
but you can see from the 4444:0016 below that mine is different. The
0016 means that it uses the iTVC16, and the 88xx means that it uses cx88.

Here is the lspci -nv output for mine:

02:06.0 Class 0400: 4444:0016 (rev 01)
        Subsystem: 0070:4801
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 11
        Memory at cc000000 (32-bit, prefetchable)
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2

And the more human readable lspci -v:

02:06.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16
(CX23416) MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
Subsystem: Hauppauge computer works Inc.: Unknown device 4801
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 11
        Memory at cc000000 (32-bit, prefetchable)
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2
