Same as on my board (an EPIA M)

I'm using the (ALSA) via82xx driver, and OSS support, you need to use
/dev/dsp rather than /dev/adsp, also have a read of this page in
particular the section linked to
(http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=372#sampling_48khz). Should give you a
better understanding of what's going on.
