just out of interest, do you have a thin blue line (maybe 3 pixel) on the top 
of the screen, too? i had those in xv, too, and used xvattr to set the 
colorkey to black, but xv colorkey has no effect for xvmc it seems ;)

does mplayer work with -vo xvmc?

bad thing about the new drivers is you can only use 640x480 and 800x600 as 
TV-Resolution (hardcoded) - no 720x576 here. i already complained on the 
nvidia linux forum, but questions about this are ignored. it work with the 
previous drivers.
