Hi, I'm one of the developers who's been working on getting HDTV working
well with MythTV. One thing that would really help me would be a
few donated GeForce 6800 cards from nVidia. Does anyone at the EFF have
an nVidia connection? If Doug Larrick, John Patric Poet and I had such
cards I'm sure the HDTV support would be moving along more quickly. The
GeForce FX's we have does not have the horsepower to do 1080i decoding
with OSD well.

]Thanks for all the interest here. Yes, our project is focused around
]U.S. HDTV because the FCC's broadcast flag will restrict the
]capabilities of tuner devices a year from now -- and, as Doug
]describes, will prevent the manufacture or import into the US of any
]broadcast HDTV tuner cards that could be used with MythTV, because

]Our hope is to work with folks here to identify and solve current
]problems with HDTV setup, and to help enhance guides like Jarod's and
]builds like KnoppMyth to make the system easier for a newcomer to
]install. At the same time, we expect our effort to contribute to the
]overall Myth project and help other Myth setups too.

]Thanks!
