He he. I guess I really should but I'm scared to death at the idea of
having to rebuild my current config. So maybe I'll sheepishly let the
experts test the waters first.

That would really be cool too. I understand that new projects need some
time out of kernel before they can be integrated, but the last time I
rebuilt my kernels it was hell:
 2.4.26
  + the i2c-2.8 patch (for lm_sensors)
  + lm_sensors 2.5.6
  + alsa 1.0.5
  + eagle-usb 1.9.6 (for the ADSL USB modem provided my my ISP)
  + ltmodem 8.26a (for the winmodem that came in my computer)
  + bttv 0.9.15
  + ivtv 0.1.10-pre2-ck64f.
  + lirc 0.7
  (+ the VMware modules)

Clearly not your fault, it's just the accumulation and dependencies that
gets me.
