(I'm not the original author, but I wanted to respond with why I'm
using RAID-5 :-).

I'm using RAID-5 so I have some failure protection.  :-)  I have
ripped my DVD collection (currently ~150) and have a rather large
collection of shows/movies/cd's from myth all stored on one large
partition.  With RAID-5, I can affrord to lose 1 drive and not
have to get divorced (I don't think my wife would stay with me
through the reripping process :-).
