The only way to record MPEG-1/2 in Myth is with a hardware MPEG encoder like
the PVR-x50, M-179 or Yuan cards, or with a HDTV card like the pcHDTV. With
those cards, the recordings made by Myth can be accelerated at playback with
XvMC or PVR-350.
